Hi girls,
Kirsten Elferink has put together the following information regarding the St Mary's Foundation and the amazing work they do...thanks a mill Kirst, let's see if we can reach 89'000!!
Pay-it-forward...
Two years ago the class of ‘87 raised over R40 000 for the St Mary’s Foundation and I was thinking it would be fantastic if our year could do the same - match or even beat what they raised.
The Foundation does incredible work. They run a Saturday School (Ikusasa Lethu) for learners from Alex; a scholarship programme for previously disadvantaged learners; a teaching bursary; and are involved in local schools - HA Jack and Waverley Girls.
I think we can all agree that we were so privileged to have attended St Mary’s, and so to offer hope and an opportunity for those less fortunate is something we as a year can do.
If you have already RSVP’d for the Old Girls Day, there was an opportunity then to make a donation. If you haven’t yet, or aren’t coming, then click on this link and it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3 to make a donation by Credit Card, Eft or Debit Order.
If (when?) you make a donation, please add Class of 89 to your reference so that they can tally up what we collect. If you’ve already made a donation, please send Lisa Grobblar who runs the foundation an email to ask her to allocate your donation to our year (Lisa.Grobbelaar@stmary.co.za).
And all of those who live overseas, the power of your Euro, Dollar or Pound is significant!
Here’s hoping our class of 89 can leave a legacy behind us and a challenge for the years that lie ahead.
